May 3 @ 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Join Mother Anita and Miss Jackie (aka Chef Jackie) for 6 weeks of Godly Play fun. If your schedule has not permitted you and your family to be here for Sundays at 10 am Godly Play, try this weekday program, offered in addition to the Sunday morning program with Miss Jordan. Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience through wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children ages 3 through late childhood, and beyond. Come join us in the Godly Play room, located next to the stage in EDS. godly play

Make Shoreline Ringers, a top-level community handbell choir, a part of your Eastertide with a program of popular favorites, original handbell compositions, and classical transcriptions. A concert will be held Sunday, May 7th, at 4 PM at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn Street, Newport, RI. The Shoreline Ringers, directed by Jane Nolan, ring on five octaves of Malmark handbells and seven octaves of Malmark handchimes. The group rehearses in Ledyard and has ringers from all over eastern and central Connecticut. Shoreline Ringers was formed with a goal of developing the art of handbell ringing and educating audiences about this unique art form. They have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City as a part of the “Christmas Time in the City” concert, with Scott Haney and the “Joy for the Kids Concert” sponsored by WFSB Channel 3 in Hartford, and with the Coast Guard Band.
