Our Choir Room
Welcome to Our Choir Room, which as one may see, is bright and spacious. We have many plants for great, clean and humidified air and I thank everyone who donated a pot to beautify our rehearsal singing space!
Plants are great for the choir room and surrounding halls: They oxygenate the air, in turn, enhancing our singing. Usually, the recommended number is 2 for every 100 square feet, but as you can see, we have many more...Plants with many leaves are best – the more, the better and the best plants for an air-cleaning purpose are these:
- Chinese Evergreen

- Gerbera Daisy
- Aloe Vera
- English Ivy
- Bamboo
- Palm
- Banana
- Spider Plant
- Mum
- Heart-Leaf Philodendron
- Janet Craig
- Devil’s Ivy

- Split-Leaf Philodendron
- Warneckie Snake Plant
- Ficus (Weeping Fig)
- Corn Plant
- Peace
- Lily Madagascar Dragon Tree
- Umbrella Plant
- Arrowhead Plant
We don't have all of these, but the ones we do have like our space and are doing very well, even in the dead of winter...You might want to consider some of them for your home. Also, if you have any plant orphan in search of a new sunny home, we'll still take more.
We're a bit dissheveled at the moment, as we are still working to create a friendly and efficient rehearsal space for our choristers and adults. We have pull-down shades to be installed and beautiful new curtains to hung once the shades are up.
If you look closely at the photos by blowing them up to full size, you may wonder about the wall hangings, which look like little banners. These are actually Tea towels from various cathedrals in the U.K. including; St. Andrews, Aberdeen, York Minster, Westminster Abby, Peterborough Cathedral, St. Paul's, London and Southwark Cathedral to name a few.
