Tuesday August 17th - ALL PHOTOS ARE UP, but there are more yet to come from our Sunday Photographer, Tom Roskelly (300+) and others.   Please stay tuned and check back here often.  Also, many have inquired about recordings and YES, there will be some available; however, it will be a while for editing to get them ready to post as MP3's.  I appreciate your patience.  AJH

Saturday, August 7 - Friday, August 6th Photos are up!  B-Day [Beach Day] this afternoon after Dress rehearsal this morning at Emmanuel.  Then, Gala Closing Banquet tonight with a talent show!  I imagine there's going to be  a little roasting going on...  It's been a funfilled 'Roller Coaster' week.

Parent Reminder - Chorister Pick-up is Sunday, August 8th after the 10 A.M. Festival Choral Eucharist at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn Street, Newport, at approximately 12 Noon during the post-service reception.  The service will end approximately 11:15 - 11:30 immediately after which, a course photo will be take by our own professional photograher, Tom Roskelly.  Luggage will be available for pickup at entrance door to All Saints Chapel just adjacent to the main church.

August 5 - Tuesday August 3 and Wednesday, August 4th photos are posted. Voice lessons, Liturgy classes and rehearsals...galore...Beach day was moved to Saturday due to a ferocious thunder storm that rolled through this morning, but we had a great day ending with a rousing dance, followed by a quiet Compline. The transformation was miraculous to say the least!  I ran out of photo disk space at the dance before Compline, but don't worry, it was held and then, we went out to view the convergence of Saturn, Venus and Mars in western sky. The last triple conjunctions between Mars and Saturn took place in 1779, 1877 (only in right ascension) and in 1945-'46. The next triple conjunction between these planets will occur in 2148-'49, in 2185 and in 2187!

July 31 - Weather for the week!  Be sure to bring rain gear, (just in case! ), and, perhaps a light blanket.

July 26 - No need to bring Hymnals or Prayer books.  Service sheets & Hymns will be run daily to hand out to the choristers.

July 21 - Turn by Turn Directions [in PDF] to Salve Regina University and Emmanuel Church during the busy summer months.  For Trinity Church, follow the directions to Memorial Drive - turn right on Memorial from Rhode Island Ave & proceed straight to Spring Street.  Turn right on Spring and proceed straight to Trinity Church on the left.

July 6 -  The Royal School of Church Music in America Newport 2010 Course for Boy & Girl Choristers 9 to 17 Guidelines and Agreement on Appropriate Behavior for Adult Staff, Participants & Auditors will be posted soon.  Adult Auditors will be required to be familiar with and to sign the guidelines on the day of their registration.
July 4 - Adult Auditors will be allowed at the course at No Charge except for meals and potential overnight accommodations at Salve Regina University.  A limited number of beds are available at a very reasonble fee.

July 2 -  Chorister Registration is Monday, August 2nd in the Miley Hall foyer, on the campus of Salve Regina University, from 2 to 5 P.M.
 
Chorister Pick-up is Sunday, August 8th after the closing Festival Choral Eucharist at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn Street, Newport, at approximately 12 Noon during the post service reception.
July 2 - How do I get to Salve Regina University?   Click Here for Newport Overview Map.  Magnify the map and look for Salve Regina University in the upper right hand corner. (Graduation Cap).   Miley Hall is diagonally across the street from 100 Ochre Court (rehearsal hall location).  Emmanuel Church is a little lower, to the left on the map.  (The map top is EAST).  Trinity Church is farther north, i.e., just to the left of the map's center.
 
I recommend printing this map and circling the locations for your conveneience.
