RSCM Newport - 2010 Faculty Vocal Coach Jolle Greenleaf

Hailed as "a golden soprano" by the New York Times, Jolle Greenleaf has established herself as a leading specialist in repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries.

At RSCM - Newport 2010, Ms. Greenleaf will concentrate on working with the changing voice, which occurs in boys typically between the ages of 12 and 15.  She is currently a voice teacher to the choristers at Grace Episcopal Church in New York City under choirmaster and organist Patrick Allen, where she offers private lessons to members of the boys and girls choirs.

Prior to being at Grace Church, Ms. Greenleaf began teaching voice lessons in February of 2004, to the boys of St. Thomas School under John Scott, organist and choirmaster of St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue.  She quickly gained recognition for her work with children's voices and has since participated in workshops for both boys and girls choirs in and around the tri-State area, and in the Bahamas.

Ms. Greenleaf completed her Master’s degree at the Mannes College of Music, and received the coveted Beebe Fellowship to study at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands.  Upon returning to New York, Ms. Greenleaf has built a career performing with illustrious period instrument conductors.

Ms. Greenleaf has offered masterclasses at distinguished institutions such as Harvard University, Columbia University, New York University, University of Maryland, and the Folger Shakespeare Library.  She has offered voice classes for choristers at Trinity Wall Street, Dalton School, Trinity on the Green (CT), Christ Church Greenwich, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church (NJ), as well as participated in St. Thomas Church's Choirmasters Conferences in 2007 and 2008.
