Christine Cox Lefebvre - French Studies

As the unofficial cultural ambassador to EDS, Christine has been enjoying teaching introductory French to students since 2004.  Through games and entertaining lessons, students have learned basic language skills and French history.  Broadening a child's intellect to understand other cultures helps them grow into appreciating the ever expanding melting pot that is today's world.

Ms. Christine comes from a small town in northern France near Lille, the country's fifth largest city.  She attended the University Catholic de Lille where she obtained a Certificate as Assistant Maternity Nurse and in  Medical administration.  She settled into the medical field for a number of years as an Assistant Maternity Nurse before moving into pre-school work.  She came to the US 12 years ago and spent 6 years as a sales-person and manager in gift and clothing stores in Rockport, MA, and here in Newport.  She lives in Middletown with her husband and joined EDS in March, 2004.  Some of her favorite activities include sailing, hiking, cooking, art and the love of visiting new places.

She has the pleasure at EDS of interacting with young people in a friendly and playful environment, teaching her native language and sharing her diverse culture.  The children have the same common love of learning and playing.
