Stewardship
We believe that who we are and what we have are gifts from God, given
to us to enjoy and to use to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
God calls us to be stewards – to use these gifts for the work
that we are called to do. We believe in God’s abundance; in
the economy of God there is always enough to do what God calls us
to do. Online Pledges
If you would like, you can make your pledge online using our Online
Pledge Card. Please be generous as you complete this form. The
time, talent, and financial support that you commit will enable us
to do God's work in and through Emmanuel and our communities. Please
join in supporting the life of our Parish. 2008 Annual Fund
Brochure
The 2008 Annual Fund Campaign is ongoing.
What is it about? Two things: our personal spiritual discipline
and our ability to fund the work that God calls us to do in and
through Emmanuel Church. To learn more, please read our Annual
Fund Brochure.
"Mission Possible" - October, 2007
Do You Believe In Us?
Last year, we laid out a set of beliefs that defined who we are as
a church and community and how and where we felt called to grow our
ministries. Thanks to your belief in us, and your generosity, we made
great strides in meeting these goals.
However, we are not finished
with this important work. In faith, we are continuing to set ambitious
goals to become the community God is calling us to be. During the
next few months, you will hear more about these goals and our plans
to achieve them.
In the meantime, we ask you to consider prayerfully what we believe
is God’s call to us to be good stewards:
- We believe that who we are and what we have are gifts form God,
given to us so that we can fulfill God’s purpose for our
lives.
- We believe God calls us to use these gifts for the work we are
called to do.
- We believe God calls all members of our church to help support
the mission and ministries that we do according to our individual
means.
- We believe in the spiritual discipline of proportional giving
(a percentage of our income), and working incrementally towards
meeting the tithe – the biblical standard of giving (10%).
- We believe that good stewardship is about sharing what God has
given us and that by doing so we grow intro the people that God
calls us to be.
Some people say, “Give till it hurts.” But God recommends
that we give until it feels good. God loves a cheerful giver! –
