We are honored by your interest in celebrating your marriage here at Emmanuel Church. We hope that the marriage service will add to the joy of your wedding and help make your marriage a living symbol of the union between Christ and his Church.
The first step in considering a wedding at Emmanuel is to make an initial appointment with the
Rector where she will review the requirements of the Episcopal Church. The first is that at least one person of the couple be a baptized Christian. The second is that if either or both of the parties to the marriage have been previously married and the marriage has ended in divorce, permission must be obtained from the Bishop of the Diocese of Rhode Island.
Secondly, we hope that you will choose to be involved in the life of the parish. The single best thing we can do to honor and foster a life-long union is to provide a warm, friendly and solid church home that enriches peoples’ spiritual lives. A shared religious experience is a solid foundation for a lasting marriage. We invite you to join us for worship Sundays at 8 and 10 AM, Tuesdays at 10 AM (in All Saints Chapel) and/or Wednesdays at 6 PM in the church where you can learn more about this faith community.
It is expected the Director of Music, Allen Hill, who is Director of Music, and our church organist, be asked to play at all weddings at Emmanuel Church. If he should not be available, or with his permission, another organist may be contacted. Once the date for the wedding is confirmed, we ask that you contact Allen directly to set up an initial planning for he music at your wedding.

Thank you for your interest in being married at Emmanuel Church.
